Whether it's the first chance to get a glimpse of the latest motorcycles and scooters, or a place to find the best custom machines and enjoy a day/weekend away, we've listed some of the best events for a motorcyclist or scooter rider to note down for 2024.
If you’re starting to plan your schedule for the coming year this list could well help you get some dates in the diary, including a little note on what makes each event special and well worth attending.
There are plenty of others not included here, particularly your local motorcycle events and meet-ups - countless sunny Sunday rides and Tuesday evening bike meets await.
MCN London Motorcycle Show 2024 - 16th to 18th February
As the weather (slowly) starts to warm off, the motorcycle and scooter events season kicks off with the London Motorcycle Show held at the ExCel in London, with free parking for those who turn up on two wheels.
It’s a great chance to catch some of the 2024 motorcycles that may have caught your eye from EICMA and Motorcycle Live of 2023 that you may have missed, plus there may be a few extras from manufacturers who were sitting on some 2024 machines for a late release…
There’s plenty to see and do over the weekend, including Charley Boorman’s 'Adventure Base Camp’, MCN’s ‘World of Bikes’ stage, Henry Cole’s ‘Ready to Ride Workshop’ and ‘Restoration Live’ – as well as displays from the ‘Extreme Enduro’ team.
It’s looking like it will be one of the biggest in years, and also a chance to bag yourself some kit and accessories for when riding season really begins - if it hasn’t already!
Bike Shed Moto Show 2024 – London, 23rd to 26th May
Having run for several years now, the London Bike Shed Moto Show has proved to be immensely popular with fans of everything Bike Shed – custom bikes, live bands, plenty of bars (for those of you not riding in) and all taking place in a stunning grade 1 listed venue just south of Shoreditch.
We attended in 2023 for the opening day and had a chance to catch up with some of the names and faces of the industry, whilst admiring the seemingly endless pool of custom wonders from manufacturers (including Yamaha, BMW, Royal Enfield, Norton) and private builders who have clearly spent long hours in the workshop tinkering with their dream builds.
It’s well worth attending, and has quickly become one of the top go-to destinations for motorcyclists all across the UK. You can happily attend for the weekend, and spend the entire time in awe of what’s around you. If you want more info on how we got on, here's our Bike Shed Moto Show 2023 recap.
Isle of Man TT - 27th May to 8th June
As far as motorcycle events go, the annual Isle of Man TT races is quite easily in a league of its own. As you’ll know, the entire island thrives on welcoming thousands of racers and bike fans over the course of 2 weeks.
Whether you turn up for a handful of days or block out the full time from the first week of qualifying and the week of racing (held between Monday the 27th of May to the 8th June), the TT is often considered a motorcycling mecca – the Mountain Course something that you’ll certainly want to see in person at least once.
It’s an event that practically everyone will have on the radar, often as a bucket list item to do at least once. Why not make this year the year? Forewarning, though, you may want to get on planning this well in advance. The 37.73-mile course does cover the majority of the island, but it’s quite often absolutely packed for those two weeks of the year.
ABR Festival 2024 - Warwickshire, 28th to 30th July
Pack your tent and dust off your adventure gear, this one is for the off-road fans. Seriously growing in popularity over the years, the ABR Festival from the guys and girls at Adventure Bike Rider magazine is best described as Glastonbury for Bikers - and we can attest to that, as it’s exactly what Felix and I thought when heading there for the first time in 2023.
Adventure bikers from across the UK head over to Warwickshire to sample some hand-made trails and test ride some of the latest and greatest motorcycles over the full weekend, with both on-road and off-road test rides offered from a vast range of manufacturers.
It doesn’t stop once the sun goes down, either. Throughout the day and into the evenings you’ll find music and street food (and some bars) with the opportunity to party through the night and chat with likeminded riders and enthusiasts, or kick back and relax for a full day of riding the next day – though, naturally we can’t advise that you do both…
Our video from the ABR Festival 2023 is also well worth a watch if you’re wondering what to expect!
MotoGP: British Grand Prix 2024 - Silverstone, 2nd to 4th August
MotoGP heads to Silverstone from the 2nd to the 4th of August, and realistically this one needs no introduction or explanation.
But in any case, the racing carnival on two wheels visits the UK’s premier race track for a weekend of fun. At this point of the season, it’s around halfway through, so at this point the front-runners for the 2024 crown should have established themselves, as well as the manufacturer that is likely destined to win the constructors championship (spoiler: it’ll be Ducati). And the ongoing story that will no doubt continue to take the headline slot, just how Marc Marquez is getting on riding a Ducati having left team HRC and Honda…
This will be one of the more expensive events you can attend on this list, but is sure to be one of the most action-packed and memorable.
Isle of Wight Scooter Rally – 23rd to 26th August
Scooter fans, we didn’t forget about you! The Isle of Wight Rally is the biggest of the year, held over what hopes to be a sunny bank holiday weekend with scooterists from around the UK (and beyond) flocking over in their thousands on the ferries to relive the days of old - the average attendance is around 10,000!
You can camp, glamp, or stay in one of the local hotels and B&Bs, with the VFM organisers running a shuttle bus to get you around the island.
With plenty of activities to enjoy over the long weekend, Mods with their treasured custom classic scoots will be in attendance to enjoy the sun and festivities – and you’ll be very likely to see our Lexham team there, too. So pop by and say hello!

Copdock Bike Show 2024 - Trinity Park, Ipswich, 1st September
A premier motorcycle event for East Anglia next, and the East Anglian Copdock Bike Show - it's held at the brilliant Trinity Park near Ipswich on Sunday the 1st of September, and well worth a look.
An annual extravaganza of all things two-wheeled, the event is held all on one day, and never fails to draw in mega crowds (with fingers crossed for sunny skies) to enjoy the best of new motorcycles, stunt shows (and other featured showins) and plenty of metal to drool over. Classic icons, custom wonders, and the latest 2024 models can all be enjoyed from 9:00am onwards.
What's more, for those who want the full Copdock experience, this year overnight camping is available on-site from midday on Friday the 30th of August - go on and make a weekend of it! More info can be found on the official Copdock website. Big shoutout to CamRider motorcycle training school, who are the main sponsors of the event!
EICMA 2024 - Milan, 5th to 10th November
As we near the end of the two-wheeled event calendar, we begin casting eyes towards the upcoming year with particular interest in what the manufacturers have planned. Traditionally, most motorcycle and scooter manufacturers wait until the grand show in Milan to reveal the next generation of two-wheeled delights – typically waiting for the doors to open on the first day to pull the wraps on their upcoming machinery.
It's a spectacular experience and could be considered reserved for the upper tier of enthusiasts, those who want to be some of the first in the world to see what metal is waiting on the horizon. Although flying out to Milan to wander around an enormous convention centre teaming with two-wheeled fanatics (it’s honestly so vast you’re unlikely to see everything) may not be at the top of the list for some, it’s a superb chance to get a first peek at what you could be spending a bit of money on in the coming year…
Despite otherwise being a UK-populated list, we note EICMA here as it's arguably the most important event for new motorcycles and scooters in the world, and you could make an adventure out of it... spend a bit of time riding down to Milan and enjoy some incredible roads and routes on the way.
Motorcycle Live 2024 - NEC, Birmingham, 16th to 24th November
Closing out the year for many is the crown jewel of the two-wheeled UK events season, Motorcycle Live at the NEC in Birmingham. Not only is it the first chance you’ll get to see the newest releases (often fresh from EICMA the week before) there are also countless shows, talks, challenges and displays from expert riders to enjoy.
It’s also a fantastic opportunity to hunt down a bargain from the many vendors who attend, you can also jump on a free test ride and see if that new bike is really the one for you, or enter one of many competitions – and grab as many freebies as you possibly can!
Motorcycle Live is a convergence of all things two-wheeled, and well worth attending for at least a day – traditionally, the first Sunday tends to be BSB day, where you can spot your favourite riders at the show, and Monday is the trade & media day, so you can often spot the guys and girls that ride the bikes on launches for you to quiz them!
There we have it, some of the top events to consider attending for 2024!
